Hello! Jó nap! Welcome to THE HUNGARY SOUL and thank you for stopping by! 🙂 Hungarian food is known to be unique, rich in flavours and in my opinion one of the best! (and yes I may be bias) I grew up eating Hungarian food and both my parents were born in Hungary. My Mom and Grandma Barta were amazing cooks and bakers which is why I am here sharing our best recipes and more with many that are authentic, easy to follow recipes with loads of flavour. This hearty and satisfying stew dish has the flavours of Hungarian spices that makes it oh so delicious. The spicy Hungarian sausage, vegetables and herbs gives this dish it’s amazing texture, flavour and vibrancy.  

This traditional Hungarian dish has intense smoky bacon flavour with caramelized onion, cabbage with pasta. A popular recipe we ate often growing up. A simply recipe that only takes 20 minutes.  

This delicious Hungarian-style potato, bacon and bean soup is one of those hearty soups that includes ingredients you already have in your pantry. This creamy rich protein soup can be made year round as a nutritious meal. Enjoy it with some crusty bread.   

It is rich in butter with a crispy crust and topping and the zesty apricot center is so decadent and yummy! A wonderful treat to enjoy any time of the day. A must-try recipe!

Hello, my name is Rose and this is Lily!  I love to cook, travel, bake, going for walks with Lily and creating recipes. I am thrilled to share my delicious ethnic Hungarian recipes that have been in my family for generations. I have always had a passion for cooking and over the years, educating and applying the importance of eating healthy has become a second passion of mine. Most often, when I decide to cook or bake something, I take into consideration, how can I make this dish or meal healthier? I will add ingredients to apt up the nutritional content or reduce the amount of sugar content or even replace it with a natural source. In this section, you will learn about the many health benefits of foods and ingredients we often include in our recipes. It would be so beneficial to our health if we could incorporate some of these foods in our diet. I hope you take a moment and read what I have included so far. MY BUDAPEST TRIP

It seems like a life time ago when I think back to my trip to Budapest, Hungary. I have to say, it was one of the best if not THE best trips I have taken. The connection I felt once I arrived to Budapest was overwhelming. We had a chance to see many sights and explore areas, including where my parents and grandparents were from. The city itself has so much to offer and the food and wine were exceptional and very reasonable. I encourage you to read more about my trip, especially if you are planning to travel Hungary, or not and would just want to learn more about it.
