I love Quacamole and whenever I can I will make my favourite recipe! It’s chunky, yet creamy and so delicious.

There are so many variations of the avocado dip, and yet there are many that are so similar. Like most people, I create recipes that I like to eat, and in this case, this Guacamole dip is exactly that! I love the rich garlic flavour, and the bit of a onion bite with the chunks of tomatoes brings a refreshing flavour, and the hint of cumin and a the fresh lime with added salt brings this recipe to a very tasty dip!!

Making this dip:

When making this dip, it is all up to you how creamy you would like it. My preference is a chunky dip with some creamy texture, and this recipe has both.

It’s important to use ripe avocadoes, yet not overly ripe. Their skins are brown in colour, and when you slightly press the avocados they should give a little, indicating they are ripe enough to use. There is nothing worse than trying to mash an avocado that isn’t ripe, or one that is starting to brown in the center because it’s over ripe.

This recipe is as easy as one, two, three! All you need is a bowl, and roughly mash the avocados with a fork until you have a desired consistency. Then add your onion, tomatoes, garlic, lime juice and salt….walah!! You have a delicious Guacamole dip!

Ingredients for this simple recipe

Avocados: important that your avocados are ripe, if they are too soft, they may be overripe, and avoid using

Red onion: adds flavour but not overpowering

Tomatoes: I like to use roma, as they are more meaty, another words, not watery and it adds a fresh balance and flavour; makes sure they are ripe

Garlic: adds a pungent flavour

Lime: necessary for flavour and adds acidity to prevent the avocado from browning

Cumin: just enough to give it added flavour

Himalayan salt: needed to bring out the flavour of the ingredients,
